These thoughts suddenly resurfaced in my mind due to resent developments related to COVID19 in national and international arena. On national front, we are criticising the Govt. for preparations related to lock-down, medical infrastructures and facilities, provisions for poor, economic and financial issues, etc. It creates a picture as if govt. has failed miserably on all fronts in handling the Corona pandemic. On international front, we were just waiting to happen something to malign the leadership and Trump just provided the fodder. In entire speech, one word was selected out which was “retaliate” and it was hyped in such a way as if Trump has shown Modi his place.
The most amazing aspect of all this is that none of the people criticising the govt seem to be sad or worried about anything. If we can read them between the lines, they are enjoying the so called failures of govt. There is a feeling of glee, an undercurrent of sadistic pleasure, which these people are taking from the misery of nation. Even when CIVID19 spreads suddenly due to foolishness and foolhardiness of Jamatis, these people are counting numbers to show failure of govt. instead of coming up and raising their voices against dangerously mischievous behaviour of Jamatis. When Trump pressurises Modi, instead of taking it an insult of nation, these people are indirectly supporting the act of Trump.
Most amazing aspect of all these is that during entire developments till now, these people have not come out with any positive suggestion or action. It seems that actually we enjoy abusing ourselves, but do nothing to improve the situation. It is time to tighten our belts and prove our worth. If we are worth something, then only criticism by us is worth anything.
